Pat Wang joined Healthfirst as President and CEO in 2008. Healthfirst is a provider-sponsored, not-for-profit health plan that serves more than 1.8 million people in the New York City metropolitan area. These include one-third of New York City’s Medicaid population, about a quarter million Medicare Advantage members, and the largest number of Medicare-Medicaid members with long term care needs in the State. The company combines a genuine presence in its diverse local community with value based care models that seek to align incentives with hospitals, independent physicians, and other providers, especially with respect to quality and outcomes. Healthfirst has consistently achieved among the highest quality ratings in the State and its market over time.

Pat served as a Commissioner of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) from 2016 through 2022, is a member of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s stakeholder committee advising on New York’s first Master Plan on Aging and served as a member of the State’s Medicaid Redesign Team II and co-chair of its Vaccine Equity Taskforce.  She is a Director of the New York Federal Reserve Bank and serves on the Boards of the Alliance for Health Policy and America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP).

Pat is a graduate of Princeton University and New York University School of Law, cum laude. She has lived in Yugoslavia, Taiwan, and China and is a longtime resident of New York City.
