While a number of health plans have started to use clinical data as part of their quality measure strategy, many have yet to realize the benefit. This session will discuss how NYC Healthfirst's private HIE collects, aggregates and normalizes clinical data from the provider network to use as a source for quality measurement and to monitor and improve performance.
This session will also discuss how access to clinical data and event notifications can help health plans proactively close gaps in care by using that information to preemptively notify their providers.
After a discussion about using event notification to proactively close gaps in care, the session will discuss key considerations for health plans that want to follow in Healthfirst's footsteps.
